There are those who wear socks with their flip-flops and then there are the purists who don't like anything between them and their sandals. I am of the sock set. My feet get cold easily. Most socks don't accommodate the big toe so you end up with cotton bunched in the webbing of your feet. These flip-flop socks are the answer for keeping feet warm while keeping your socks from becoming misshapen. Your friends will gawk, though, which is what one of my friends did when he caught me wearing a pair of these without the flip or the flop. He literally yelped. Some people need to get out more.

Sailing and I are two things rarely seen together. Nevertheless, the boat shoe is quintessential summer footwear and I wear them everywhere on dry land. Slip them on with a pair of shorts and you're as well-dressed as should be required for a summer day. Anything more and you shouldn't want any part of it.

I think we're of an age where men can wear cowboy shirts without the accompanying Brokeback Mountain jokes, right? I should hope so because this snap button shirt is the perfect combination of relaxed and subtly stylish for those cool southwest spring evenings. It's pretty safe to say something is hot when you wish the seasons would change just so you have an excuse to buy and wear it. This jacket from Mover is made for the slopes. But it's springtime and I'd be crazy to drop this kind of money on a jacket under any circumstances. But I can't help imagining how dashing I'd look in this. I've long known that the team over at Threadless are the best at making awesome tee-shirts, but I never considered how well their irreverent designs would work as art in the home. I love prints like the "Color Coded Criminal" which are guaranteed to spark conversation, for better or worse. 

Be Love is an apparel company founded by the sort of hippies that give hippies a good name. Its founders are partners who met while traveling in Asia. They donate 10% of sales to Common Peace, a non-profit that works to instill the ways of peace, nonviolence and conflict resolution, which the two founders, KamGi Chak and Kyle Finch, are also board members. Athleisure. That's what I am an all-world level potentate of. Also what is known as the footwear movement that combines athletic comfort with classic styling, which shoe label Clae claims to be the leader of. And I sort of can give them partial claim to that. The new lineup for Sping 09 from Clae looks like they're ready to shod your dogs for gametime. But the athleisure throne still belongs to me. No one can sweat out a TV show like I can. Nobody. I am somewhat partial to the Cousteau and the Rollins (both pictured), two guys (though one is dead) you'd love to have backing you up in your ferocious underwater battle against the mer-people.
