Belt Buckles

pac man fever

Sure, your retro video game tee shirt is clever and all, but tee shirts are for kids. When you’re ready for a grow-up way to display your taste for kids’ games, try out a classic video game belt buckle. Whether you lean toward Mario or Pac-Man; whether you’re more of an Atari fan or a follower of Nintendo–we’ve got you covered.

Super Mario Chrome Enamel Belt Buckle

mario

Like all other merchandise related to gaming, there are probably more Mario-related belt buckles than anything else. While this one is not the most precise rendition of Mario available, there’s a certain handcrafted quality to this chrome enamel buckle that a working-class dude like Mario would appreciate.

Pac-Man Belt Buckle

pac_man_belt_buckle

While there are many Pac-Man buckles out there, this version that represents the whole Pac-Man game display definitely leaves the simple individual-character buckles in the dust. The attention to detail on this particular Pac-Man Buckle is awesome, but you have to wonder why the scene depicts Pac-Man in the last moment before death. Kind of grim for a belt buckle.

Atari Logo Belt Buckle

atari logo belt buckle

Whether you’re a gamer or not, you have to appreciate the classic, timeless quality of this logo. Sure, it still works on a sentimental level for anyone who can remember their first Atari console, but it’s also just a strong logo. This Atari Logo Buckle shows it off with clear, precise perfection.

Pac-Man Belt Buckle (Oh Shit!)

oh shit

Again, with so many Pac-Man belt buckles out there, you really need a standout to get on a list like this. If you’re aiming for killer humor, this Oh Shit version is your buckle. You probably never gave much thought to sympathizing with the ghosts, but, in this brief moment before being eaten alive, this ghost says something real about the human condition.

Joystick Controller Belt Buckle

joystick controller

A consciously artist homage to the joystick, this Rob Diamond Joystick Controller Belt Buckle is for the serious retro gamer who maybe takes being a serious gamer a little more seriously than most. The unfinished metal buckle is 3" wide and extends a full 4" off the belt, just so people can see you coming.

Atari Belt Buckle

atari belt buckle

A far more accurate depiction of a classic joystick than the one listed above, this Atari Belt Buckle is no less unreasonable. As the manufacturer puts it, "The Atari controller is something that should never have been turned into a belt buckle. For this reason, we had to make it."

NES Controller Belt Buckle

nes belt buckle

The NES controller almost looks like it was made to be a belt buckle. Its flat form is perfectly suited for display at the most obvious point on your waist. The NES Controller Buckle has been made by several different manufacturers, but this glossy enamel version stands apart from the rest.

Super Mario Poison Mushroom Belt Buckle

poison mushroom

There’s a rich tradition in belt buckle design for incorporating "dangerous" elements like skulls, fascist symbols, etc. In the face of all that, this Poison Mushroom Buckle kind of mocks the very idea that wearing a belt buckle with an icon on it can be anything beside playful and ironic.

SNES Controller Belt Buckle

snes

The classic NES gets the lion’s share of attention when it comes to Nintendo controllers, but there’s a certain charm to the SNES Controller. Was it your interface with "the most perfect gaming system ever in existence?" That one’s up to you.

Space Invaders Belt Buckle

space invaders belt buckle

A buckle that refers back to a game that was in its heyday long before most of us had ever dropped a quarter into a video game, this Space Invaders Belt Buckle gets by on pure nostalgia. But the pure simplicity of that pixelated design kind of looks like the building blocks of modern gaming.

  1. I found this here

It’s an NES controller that actually works, and supposedly can be plugged in to your NES and actually work as a controller – although it would look stupid

  2. I would like to see one of these companies make a Guitar hero controller belt buckle…

You know, a real life size controller, working, just plug it in and strum… no need to hold the guitar, the pants do it for you.

  3. My name is Konstantin A. Kulikov. I own the patent for an effective model for a belt buckle with a built-in clock. This patent is registered in the Russian Federation (Patent No. 60320).
To view the Russian version of the patent please go to the official Rospatent site at here or here and enter the patent number 60320. Unfortunately, only the Russian version of the patent is available on the Rospatent site, so in order for you to familiarize yourself with my patent I am providing the English translation for your convenience.

    Model Description

    1. Belt buckle with a built-in clock consisting of a belt buckle with a flip-type lid and a clock. The difference of this model is in the way the clock mechanism is attached. It is attached to the body of the belt buckle. The flip-type lid has the possibility to be attached to the belt buckle under a specific angle, and a clock mechanism indicating the time or with the possibility to indicate the time in a mirror image; the inner surface of a flip-type lid has reflective properties.
    2. Belt buckle as indicated in part 1 with a clock dial with a set of arms.
    3. Belt buckle as indicated in part 1 with a digital clock dial.
    4. Belt buckle as indicated in part 1 with a transparent flip-type lid.

I would like to draw your attention to the benefits of my patent:

    1. My design of a belt buckle with a watch allows to make such belt buckles using different kinds of watches from automatic to electronic. It offers a design of a unique devise, which is easy-to-use compared to a construction where a watch is simply attached to the belt buckle. My technical design allows the person wearing such a belt to view the time indicated on the belt buckle in a normal way without having to rotate the buckle and/or the belt. It also allows to adjust the time on the watch, when necessary. Therefore, such design allows to use the watch built in the belt buckle for its primary function – to view the time in addition to its decorative function.
    2. There are numerous options for creating countless variations of this belt buckle for different styles and fashions. For example using an electronic watch and a non-transparent flip-lid, allowing to make it “super thinâ€Â while resembling a “regularâ€Â belt buckle. This variation will attract customers who do not wish to attract too much attention, yet who wish to have a unique product with a “secretâ€Â, especially since a watch became such a necessary attribute in our lives.
    3. Countless styles could be used for creating a flip lid. It is also possible to create several different lids to go with one buckle, which could be easily interchangeable by the owner depending on his/her style of attire.

I would like to propose to sell exclusive rights to my patent to you or your company. Your company’s expertise in apparel and belt buckles in particular follows under the category of this patent. If your proposal is most favorable to others, I will send you a letter offering to continue our
cooperation until the rights to this patent have been completely transferred to you.

    Sincerely,
    Konstantin A. Kulikov
