Design - September 20 2006Unorthodox Taxidermy10
I've always been amazed by taxidermy, partly because of the detailed rendering of a once-living animal, partly because of how creepy I find the idea of killing an animal just to put it on your wall. Considering, as well, how expensive traditional taxidermy can be, I like the option presented by the Unorthodox Taxidermy of Dr. Seuss. Apparently, Seuss set out to take his two dimensional creations into 3-D in the '30s, creating a set of sculptures that effortlessly blend humor and skillful artistry that, like most of his work, proved to be way ahead of its time.
